Getting hyperactive children to sleep at night
My son had some major health challenges as a child. Among other things, he was diagnosed as classic ADD with specific learning difficulties and getting his brain to slow down so he could drop into sleep was very difficult for him.
Getting him to sleep was one of my greatest difficulties. I could read stories to him late into the night and he still couldn't go to sleep. I tried everything!!! - until -
My never fail discovery and solution -
Conscious breathing
After reading several stories to my children, I would lie down next to my son and consciously breathe. I deliberately lowered the vibration of my body through the breath by breathing slowly in to the count of 10 and slowly out to the count of 10. This in turn affected his energy.
With each breath, I would consciously allow my body to drop deeper into the alpha state. Within minutes, my son would start to twitch, which told me that he too was dropping into alpha, and in another few minutes he would be fast asleep.
(Yes ... the trick is to not fall asleep yourself.)
This discovery made bed time in my home, a much happier and less stressful time. If children's bedtime is a challenge for you, give this a trial, and see if it works for you. It's worth a try!
Lavendar in the bath water
This is for all the mums and dads who are at their wits end at the end of the day ... and the kids are still wound up with no sign of being sleepy.
Lavendar in the bathroom and the bath water is soothing to the nerves of both the children and the mums and/or dads. It brings peace and harmony into a chaotic period of the day.
Kids love to have a story when they get into bed. After the lavendar bath finish their day off with one or two stories - and if they are not quite ready to drop off to sleep - lie down beside them and consciously breathe. Better still, teach them how to consciously breathe and you are giving them a gift for life.
Chemical Free Deodorant Solution
Chemical and toxic free deodorant is important to me. I have experimented over the last 6 years with many brands of aluminium free deodarant without complete success. At last, I have found a solution. I use "Deonat" - crystal spray natural deodorant plus one drop (per under arm) of Thursday Plantation Tea Tree Oil. Use crystal spray to wet the underarm completely, dab one drop of tea tree oil on your finger and rub over entire area.
My testimony: "I am dry throughout the day - and arrive home in the evening with no body odour."
If natural deodorant that works is important to you - I highly recommend you try this combination.
WARNING: It is wise to test whether you have an allergy or intolerance to tea tree oil before following this remedy.
Harmonise your Home
A simple and easy way to balance the energy in your home is to play a "singing bowl" in every room of the house. The vibration will harmonise the energy making your house into a home and a place that everyone enjoys living in or wants to visit regularly.
You can also say a cleansing and harmonising prayer of protection. As you walk around each room with your singing bowl you say this prayer as a mantra - "I invoke the Divine Source to cleanse and harmonise this room with love, light and happiness for the pleasure and benefit of all who come into it."
